Fenugreek seed powder that turns to gel

Radico Organic Methi Seed Powder is milled from certified organic Trigonella foenum-graecum seed and contains nothing else — no fillers, no synthetic preservatives, no fragrance.

Methi behaves differently from the leaf powders. The seed is high in mucilage, so once it meets water it thickens into a slippery gel rather than a grainy paste. That gel is what makes it a favourite for dry or brittle-feeling lengths. It carries no pigment, so it will not colour hair or shift a plant colour already in place.

How to use

1. Weigh 15-20 g for short hair, around 30 g at shoulder length, or 50-60 g for long or thick hair.
2. Add warm water gradually — methi takes more than the leaf powders, so start at four times the weight and add further water as it thickens.
3. Let it stand 10-15 minutes. The gel keeps developing, and this is the step most people cut short.
4. Apply through the lengths and ends, where dryness usually sits, then to the scalp if you want it there.
5. Cover, leave 30-45 minutes, and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Rinse well — the gel is slippery and likes to linger at the nape.

Fenugreek seed is high in mucilage, which forms a gel in water. That texture is the point of the product, not a fault.

Does it smell?
Fenugreek has a distinctive savoury, maple-like smell that some people notice for a wash or two afterwards. It fades.

Will it change my colour?
No. Methi carries no pigment and can be used alongside or between plant colours.

Should I put it on my scalp or my ends?
Ends first. Methi is generally chosen for dry lengths rather than as a scalp herb — neem, brahmi and bhringraj are the scalp-focused ones.
